Which areas do you service?

Dr. Isabel – Mobile Vet is based in Port Macquarie and services Port Macquarie and surrounding areas. Travel fees may apply for locations outside our standard service area. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Does it cost more?

Yes, home visits cost more than attending a regular clinic. Our clients choose home visits for a variety of reasons, including convenience, comfort, and reduced stress for their pets.

How much does a consultation cost?

A consultation costs $165 for the first pet and $145 for additional pets.

Who would benefit from this service?

Families whose pets find travel stressful, difficult or physically challenging can greatly benefit from our mobile veterinary service. This includes senior pets, pets with chronic conditions, mobility issues, anxiety or those receiving palliative care.

Our service is also ideal for people who may find it difficult to attend a traditional clinic, including those without reliable transport, families with young children, busy professionals or carers with limited flexibility.

One of our most meaningful services is providing peaceful, in-home euthanasia. Saying goodbye in the comfort and familiarity of home allows pets to remain relaxed and surrounded by the people who love them most, helping families create a calm and dignified final farewell.

What type of animals do you treat?

At the moment, Dr. Isabel sees companion animals, including dogs and cats.

Do you do vaccinations?

Yes. Dr. Isabel is able to administer all routine vaccinations as needed.

Can blood tests and diagnostics be performed at home?

Yes. Many diagnostic procedures can be performed during a home visit, including blood tests, urine testing and some cytology samples. If additional diagnostics or advanced imaging are required, referral to a veterinary clinic may be recommended.

Can I order prescription food or my pet's medication through you?

Yes. Dr. Isabel is able to order prescription diets, medications and provide prescriptions as needed.

Do you offer in-home euthanasia?

Yes. Providing peaceful and compassionate end-of-life care is one of the most important aspects of our service. In-home euthanasia allows pets to remain in a calm and familiar environment, surrounded by the people who love them most.

Can you perform surgery or dental procedures?

No. Procedures requiring anaesthesia, surgery or hospitalisation are referred to a veterinary clinic. Dr. Isabel is happy to work alongside your regular veterinarian to ensure your pet receives the care they need.

Do you handle emergencies?

No. Dr. Isabel – Mobile Vet is not an emergency service. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, please contact your regular veterinary clinic or your nearest emergency hospital immediately.

What if my pet needs further treatment or hospitalisation?

If your pet requires surgery, intensive treatment or overnight care, they will need to be seen at a veterinary clinic or hospital. Dr. Isabel can provide referral notes and medical records to help ensure continuity of care.

Can I claim through pet insurance?

Yes. Payment is required on the day of your appointment, and an itemised invoice can be provided for you to submit to your pet insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your policy.

How do I pay?

Payment is required at the time of your appointment. We accept EFTPOS, credit card and bank transfer. An itemised invoice will be provided following your visit.

What do I need to do prior to the vet's arrival?

On the day of the appointment, please secure your pet in a safe and comfortable space approximately 15 minutes before arrival. A crate or carrier is ideal, but a quiet room where your pet feels comfortable is also perfectly suitable.

What are your operating hours?

Availability can vary due to other commitments, but appointments are generally available between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Wednesday and Friday. If you don't see your preferred time available online, please feel free to get in touch to discuss your appointment request.
