Who are the sessions run by?

Classes are run by AquaPaws owner and co-founder Taren. Taren is a qualified Veterinary Nurse with over 10 years of experience, holding a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, a Diploma in General Practice, and a Certificate in Canine Hydrotherapy. Growing up on a farm, her love for animals has shaped both her career and passion. She has worked in both mixed and small animal practices, with a special interest in surgery and, most importantly, the recovery and rehabilitation that follows. Through hydrotherapy, Taren is dedicated to giving animals a second chance—helping them regain strength, confidence, and the best quality of life possible.

When and where are the sessions held?

Sessions are by appointment only, and your initial session requires a veterinary referral before attending.

Sessions are held at our REACH facility, 49 Jindalee Road, Port Macquarie, with on-site parking and a calm, supportive environment.

What to expect?

Each session is tailored to your dog’s individual needs and comfort level. We begin with a full assessment, then gradually adjust the intensity as your dog progresses. Every session is closely monitored to ensure safety, steady improvement, and a positive experience. Session length may vary depending on your dog’s condition, goals, and response to treatment, and will be adjusted as needed throughout their program.

What do you need to bring?

While you don’t need to bring much, it’s recommended to bring:

  • Your dog on a secure, non-retractable lead

  • Any medical records, recent vet notes, or referral documentation

  • A chance for your dog to toilet before the session

  • Treats or comfort items if your dog responds well to them

We provide towels, a calm environment, and all the equipment needed for the session — you just need to bring your dog and their referral.

How much do the sessions cost?

Our hydrotherapy treadmill sessions are priced to give your dog the best care and value:

  • Initial assessment: $130

  • Follow-up sessions: $110 each

  • 5-session package: $440

  • 10-session package: $935

Packages are designed to help your dog get the most benefit from consistent, ongoing hydrotherapy.
